Today is fathers’ day. When I was young during the soviet occupation fathers’ day was on 23 February, on the day of the soviet army. As if you deserve to be a father only if you associate with the occupation army. The Uzbek-Caucasian restaurant called Talleke and Pullike (Lamb and Bull) in a former soviet suburb might not sound like a perfect choice for a fathers’ day lunch in 2012, but I loved the pot roasted lamb, the little bit clumsy service and the play room for kids. Ethnic restaurants for locals are safer choice over tourist attractions in the Old Town. Snow has melted during the week I was away and +9C outside makes it almost bearable. Nyc has seen some tragic weather lately, hang on. I got some great shots last week. Pic @ Union Sq, nyc.
