I had not been to Old Town for a long time, just a quick walk now and then during the past three years. My child barely remembers Old Town from three years back. I have to make him a tour and tell him street names and show him churches and climb up the hill to Toompea to look down on the medieval city. This time around we only get as far as Pikk Street - and we do find a crowded spot in Tallinn after all. The little triangle square in the corner of Pikk and Pühavaimu is packed with youth chatting and smoking and drinking from plastic cups. Drinking is prohibited in streets and smoking is prohibited inside, what does the poor man have to do then? A police car stops nearby and the people start hustling. Tallinn actually seems like a city full of life when you look at it at 11 p.m. Marek buys all the girls heart shaped chocolate for breakfast. Pic of Hotel Olümpia with morning fog.
